Burpies

Here are some burp pads I did for my niece, Brittany. Everyone should have a babysitter like her - she just bought a bunch of stuff to give to ladies and kids that she babysits for! How nice huh?

Harvest

It's so fun to pick things out of your own garden. Ours is a humble little garden, granted, but today we picked two tomatoes and a pineapple! We have lots of potatoes that are growing...how do you know when those things are ready to come out of the ground?! Here's some pictures of the pineapple and tomatoes still on the bush.

And here is the harvest all ready to eat.

And here is Brady modeling the pineapple! :)

The Packing Process

The process has begun...back packs are ready to go, suitcases not quite so. Sounds like I'm about to write a poem! We've started the process of packing seven people for a 2,000 mile, three-week long trip. What a process that is! But...things are going well. I think we're going to make it!

Five More to Go

This is a call for help collecting our last five state quarters! We still need:

Arizona, Alaska, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Hawaii. If any of you Utahn's find one and want to set it aside for us, we'd love you for it! (We'll love you anyway, of course!)

Signs of Summer

A few signs of summer at our house: The tent that comes out of the garage and goes back and forth between the two bedrooms.

Crafts with friends (here we made Shrinky Dink zipper pulls for backpacks).

Wristbands from the Aquatic Center that reach from wrist to elbow (until Sunday when they have to cut them off...)

Daily thunderstorms and plenty of rain! (photo courtesy of Google...sorry for the smallness)

15 Minutes of Fame

If you haven't looked at your July Friend magazine yet, open it to the first page, first story. It was sent in by none other than our Courtney! I was so surprised last Monday night when I pulled the magazine out to prepare something for Family Home Evening and there was Courtney's story and picture! I loved that they even made a cartoon drawing to go with the story. Way to go Courtney!

Fun on the Fourth

Our Fourth of July was all about... FAMILY
FRIENDS

FOOD
AND FUN!

Oh...and a little R & R in between...

We spent the day at Kelly Park with three other families from our ward just enjoying the refreshing temperature of the spring as we floated down again and again and again. It was a perfect day! That evening we went to another ward member's who puts on quite a fireworks show every year. He owns farm land behind his house and he does a show that would rival any city fireworks. It was a fun day!

Post Birthday Post

Here are some pictures from Brady's birthday last week.

French toast breakfast before we headed out to Aquatica.

Look at this cool "Nixon" t-shirt I bought Brady. It's from the same company that makes the Nixon watches that a few of us own now!

Thanks to my friend Brendee, this is still Brady's favorite dessert and he has it every year for his birthday. It's a graham cracker crust, then a thing of sherbet mixed with a thing of cool whip, spread over the graham crackers and refreeze. Very yummy and refreshing in the summertime.

Our friends, the Shepherds, came over for dessert and brought Brady a funny gift. Their kids call Brady "Bubba" and our kids call Kent (their dad) "Bubba." So this was a "Bubba Birthday gift." These are edible Bubba teeth. They also gave him Bubba Bucks (from our favorite restaurant "Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ,") some Bubba sauce from Bubbalou's, and a Bubba Badmittion (fly swatter) so Brady and Kent could play badmittion together. It was a funny gift.

Here Brady is giving me a Bubba kiss!
